Ephemera Grab Box--Vintage Bits and Bobs for Collage Spreads!
If you'd like to have nice decorated journal pages but you haven't yet learned to draw or do nice lettering, or if you're bored with cat stickers (if that is even possible!), or if you just fancy a new challenge, have a look at this!
Collage is easy. Basically--
Assemble bits of interesting paper, stickers, fabric, some watercolour paint and an antique stain such as a brown ink stamp pad, black coffee, a wet teabag, or even red wine (here in Scotland it's an ink pad, we finish our drinks even if the building is on fire).
- Rip up the background papers, stick them on the borders of your pages. Use a line of watercolour wash or splashes on page edges you've not decorated. Layer up a bit.
- Rub your antique stain over the edges of the pages and the torn edges of the paper til everything looks right.
- Add stickers, and other details like little written quotes or motivating words, glitter, sequins, 3-D things like little envelopes with things inside, or opening door stickers with something behind them.
- Add a bit more antique til it looks finished.
- Get writing on the undecorated bit of page :)
Our ephemera box is A5 (and we mail in the box, so you'll have to collage over the postage labels if you want to use it for storage after!) and contains enough bits and bobs for maybe 5 or so journal spreads, especially if you add bits of your own.
You can expect:
A little selection of vintage themed washi and PET stickers, a couple of plain or embossed watercolour hand made rag paper hearts and a selection of coloured handmade rag paper mini-sheets, a selection of vintage printed background papers for tearing up, a nice mix of A6 ish sheets of parchment paper and watercolour card, three mini rolls of narrow washi tape, a mini envelope (you have to fold it yourself!), and the odd little embellishment like the opening doors and the pony buttons, and a black plastic card for storing washi tape for use on the go! (Add your own tape!) :)
Each set is different and your challenge is to use all the little bits and to make them work!
International customers--the postage may make the ephemera boxes cost too much--so if you are not stocking up on notebooks or have a cover due out from us so we can combine shipping, why not grab a box, go in search of nice bits of paper and stickers, and make your own? Assemble your bits and follow the instructions above! :)
