A5 Barn Swallow Journal--Ready To Ship!

There's a story behind this book! We have swallows every year at Elrohir--they nest in the barns and the stables and for six months of the year, fly about screaming at everybody like they own the place (which according to them, they do). This year, a pair of swallows (who I know from last year!) moved into my little pony's stable. Unfortunately it's still quite cold here, and the pony is elderly and a bit fragile, so we tend to shut her stable door overnight to keep her warm. As a result,  I had to get up at 4.30am for a week to let the swallows out at dawn, until I found a hole cutter big enough to make a porthole for them to fly through. By then of course they had learned I could open doors so they were flying around me screeching every time I went near the kitchen door, because they think it's very unfair we have locked them out of the house! And that is why this journal cover has a swallow, swooping through a round hole, in the very early morning before the moon has properly set! 

Anyhow, it is a very pretty book. It's nude, undyed leather, hand carved, with lots of detail. Like the swallow, it's quite bright and busy (though quieter) and very summery! 

• The cover is made from premium 3mm firm leather--a lovely solid book!

• It fits A5 size notebooks and inserts--A5 is 148 × 210 mm or 5.8 × 8.3 inches.
• The spine is 4cm or 1.5 ins. with 4 elastics. You'll fit in up to 4 softbacks though it is plenty wide enough for a hardback, a few softbacks, and a wallet too. 
• The journal comes with three themed Clairefontaine notebooks to get you going-two swallows and a hummingbird!
